It Only Happens to Men?

When I share our story and try to tell people how harmful porn is, not only to the user but to the family as well. Not a lot of people believe me. But I have seen first hand in my life and my friends and families lives just how harmful it can be. I don't know who is going to be reading this but I hope you understand the only reason I am doing this blog is to try get people talking. The topic I would like to address today is one that is often misconstrued. For some reason a lot of people think that men are the only ones that can become addicted to porn. This is NOT true! Women as well can become addicted. Yes the percentage of porn addiction is higher in men. But that doesn't mean that women are immune. That would be the same as saying that only a certain type of person can become addicted to drugs. An addiction is no respecter of persons. It doesn't care what race, gender, or religion you are. The addiction isn't contained in the substance but in the individual. So yes woman are in just as much danger of becoming addicted to porn as a man is. This brings up the next question. "Does a woman being addicted to porn have he same side effects as a man addicted?" In some ways it is the same but an addiction again can vary with individuals. Some people become an alcoholic the first sip they take where others it takes maybe a few social drinking experiences before they can become addicted to the point of alcoholism. I use the example or an addiction to alcohol because it seems to be the one that a lot of people can relate to. Porn is the same. It effects everyone differently but the thing that is the same no matter who you are is that it is harmful. Every kind of addiction enslaves you and hold you captive. Some are just a lot more debilitating than others. In my opinion porn is the most harmful addiction that exist today. It has turned good people into monsters. The term monsters I use includes rapists and murderers. This is a topic I will come to late in this blog. But please be aware ANYONE can become addicted.
